Privacy Policy for Follow Up Reminder (Chrome & Microsoft Edge)

Summary

LinkedIn Reminders is a browser extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge that stores all data locally on your device using the browser's built-in storage APIs. We do not run a server, we do not have user accounts, and we do not collect, transmit, or sell any of your data.

What is stored

When you create a reminder, the extension stores the following locally in your browser via chrome.storage.local (the standard extension storage used by both Chrome and Microsoft Edge):

• Reminder titles, due dates, and optional notes
• The URL of the LinkedIn page the reminder was created from
• Optionally, the contact or profile display name copied from LinkedIn when you create a reminder

This reminder data is never transmitted to our servers or to any third party, and there is no cloud synchronization.

What is not stored or transmitted

• We do not collect personal information.
• We do not send any data to our servers — there are no servers.
• We do not use third-party analytics, tracking, or advertising SDKs.
• We do not sell or share data with anyone.
• The extension does not automate LinkedIn actions or scrape LinkedIn data at scale.

Permissions

The extension requests permission to run on linkedin.com so the Remind Me button can appear inside the LinkedIn UI, and storage permission so reminders persist between browser sessions.

Deleting your data

Removing a reminder deletes it locally. Uninstalling the extension removes all data the extension stored on your device.

Why each permission is needed

Access to linkedin.com is needed only to show the Remind Me button and reminder badges on LinkedIn pages. The extension does not read or copy your messages or connections; beyond the page address, it only saves the optional display name you choose to attach to a reminder.

Storage permission lets reminders survive closing the browser or restarting your computer. Without it, every reminder would be lost when the tab closes.

We do not request access to other websites, your browsing history, or your Google or Microsoft account.

No tracking inside the extension

The extension contains no analytics, no session recording, no crash reporting that sends data elsewhere, and no advertising. It never sends messages, invitations or comments on your behalf, and it does not automate any LinkedIn actions.

This website (followupreminder.app) uses Google Analytics to count page visits and clicks on the Add to Chrome button. That applies only to this website, not to the extension or your LinkedIn activity.

Data retention

Reminders stay on your device until you delete them or uninstall the extension. Because we have no servers, we have no copy of your data, cannot recover deleted reminders, and have nothing to hand over to third parties.

Reminders don't sync between computers or browsers. If you use Chrome or Microsoft Edge on two machines, each keeps its own reminders.

Changes to this policy

If the extension ever changes how data is handled — for example, adding optional sync — we will update this page before the change ships and describe exactly what changes.
